Christy and Cameron met, like most modern couples do, on Hinge in 2019 while they were both living in Nashville, TN. In a moment of lighthearted banter, Cameron joked that he should go ahead and purchase an engagement ring, to which Christy responded that she preferred an oval diamond. The first date included drinks at a speakeasy, the second live music at a jazz club, and on the third date they went sailing and watched the Fourth of July fireworks. It was on the sail back in, in the rain, that they shared their first kiss. It was that summer of 2019 that Cameron and Christy created a bucket list of adventures they wanted to do together. Waterfall hikes, concerts, and mini roadtrips were a few of the items they ticked off over the course of the summer. After a month of adventures, Cameron took Christy to the Natchez bridge at sunset with a picnic and asked her to be his girlfriend. It was an easy yes. Fast forward to 2022, when Cameron decided to pursue getting his captain's license, which meant moving to a coastal city. After some deliberation, they decided on Charleston, and fell in love with the coastal charm. They both found jobs, and a house, and in 2023 they adopted their dog Finn. In 2024, they took the trip of a lifetime, a 10 day roadtrip across Ireland. It was on a beach on the westernmost coast of Ireland, that Cameron asked Christy to marry him, got down on one knee, and proposed...with an oval diamond! That was on October 4th, 2024, and exactly one year later, on October 4th, 2025, they will embark on their greatest adventure yet.

All aboard: 5:00-5:15pmDeparts 5:15 pm SHARPReturns 8:15 pm Due to safety... please no pointy heels. Wedges, block heels, or flats are required. *Smart Casual Attire* Coastal weather is unpredictable; you may wish to bring a sweater or light jacket. This is a rain or shine event. The yacht has both interior and exterior covered areas in the event of rain. Two Guest shuttles will be provided for this event.Both will pick up at 4:00 pm. See Welcome Party Group Transportation page for details. If driving on your own, the closest parking to the dock entrance at the yacht harbor is pay to park. Look for QR code signs. ﻿If using a rideshare, please ask your driver to drop you at the dock entrance. Please allow extra time, as there is some walking to reach the yacht located at the end of DOCK C. The yacht departs at 5:15 pm without exception. * If you require a wheelchair, please let us know.*

There are many types of accommodation in downtown Charleston. Prices vary greatly depending on location and level of service/amenities. Wherever you choose, please keep in mind the distance to venues and whether you wish to walk, drive or rideshare during your visit. October is popular with both weddings and visitors to our beautiful city. Please book your stay as early as possible. Many hotels have already sold out.These are few to consider, but there are many additional choices.

Priceline (pricebreakers option) has very competitive rates. When searching Priceline, filter location to Charleston French Quarter, Midtown, or Historic District Charleston. Airbnb or VRBO may offer additional options. However, some require a 3-night minimum. If so, you may want to check in on Thursday, 10/2 and check out on Sunday, 10/5. This will allow you a stress-free arrival to the Welcome Party Dinner Cruise on 10/3. If planning to attend our Welcome Party Dinner Cruise on 10/3, please be mindful that many hotels have a 4:00pm check in. Without an early check in and with Friday rush-hour traffic, it will be very challenging to make it to the yacht harbor for 5:00pm boarding. With this in mind,you may wish to extend your stay to include Thursday, 10/2. If you choose to stay in Mt. Pleasant, North Charleston, or at one of our beach communities, please be cognizant of location in relation to traffic/traveling time. Commute times will vary and may be considerable depending on time of day/day of week.

Welcome Party Shuttle Guide Shuttle # 1 will leave from Carta Bus Stop 571 at the corner of Cannon Street and Rutledge Avenue across from Fuel Cantina Restaurant at 4:00 pm. This pick up location is for guests staying on Cannon Street, Spring Street, Rutledge Avenue and immediate surrounding areas that can be walked from. (This shuttle is at capacity) Shuttle # 2 will depart from Hilton Garden Inn parking lot located at 45 Lockwood Drive at 4:00 pm. If you are not staying on property, please arrange to arrive via rideshare prior to 4:00 pm. (Seats still available) Travel is during the Friday afternoon rush. Please keep in mind as you plan. The yacht departs promptly at 5:15 pm without exception.
